The Dien Hong Award is chaired by the National Assembly Office, in coordination with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hanoi People's Council, the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnam Television.
The award was launched to honor high-quality journalistic works that comprehensively reflect the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils, contributing to improving the effectiveness of propaganda about elected bodies, while encouraging reporters, editors, and press agencies to actively participate in creating and spreading democratic values and the rule of law, representing the will and aspirations of the people.
Entries for the Award must deeply reflect the 80-year process of formation, innovation and development of the Vietnamese National Assembly, clearly demonstrating the role of the National Assembly in building and perfecting the legal system, deciding on important issues of the country, supremely supervising the activities of the State, as well as the foreign affairs and international integration of the National Assembly in the new period.
In addition, the works can exploit the following contents: Innovation activities, improving the quality and effectiveness of supervision, questioning, and contacting voters; The role and contributions of National Assembly deputies and People's Councils at all levels; The coordination relationship between the National Assembly and agencies in the political system; Typical and creative stories and images in performing the tasks of elected bodies; Activities and events of the Party, State, ministries, branches, central and local levels towards the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam;...
All Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad (including Vietnamese people living abroad), and people with foreign nationality whose press works meet the criteria of the Award are entitled to submit their works. In case many people create the same work, the award will be given to the Author Group (the maximum number of authors in a group is 07 people. For major radio and television programs, the author group has a maximum of 10 people with main positions such as scriptwriter, editor, director, cameraman, host). Each author or author group can submit a maximum of 05 works. With the same content and topic, authors cannot submit to the Award in different categories.
Entries can be in print, electronic, radio, television, or photojournalistic formats; must be published or broadcast between November 21, 2024 and November 10, 2025.
Works written in Vietnamese, ethnic minority languages, or foreign languages with Vietnamese translations are accepted.
Works that violate press laws, copyright laws, or have won prizes in other competitions will not be considered.
The Organizing Committee accepts applications from January 5, 2025 to November 12, 2025 (according to the postmark).

According to the rules, the fourth Dien Hong Award - 2026 will award many prize categories with high total value, specifically:
01 Special Prize: 200 million VND;
06 First Prizes: 100 million VND/prize;
12 Second Prizes: 50 million VND/prize;
22 Third Prizes: 30 million VND/prize;
25 Consolation Prizes: 10 million VND/prize;
In addition, there are 15 "Excellent" Awards for typical press agencies (10 million VND/award) and 02 "Disseminated Works" Awards as voted by the Judging Council (20 million VND/award).
