2023 can be said to be a year of strong innovation in the Crossfire eSports village. The tournament system has witnessed many upgrades and optimizations compared to last year. After the renovation steps from CLAN WAR to Best of Ranking, the most important change lies in the CFVL 2023 season 1 professional tournament which is about to be implemented.
CFVL 2023 season 1 inherits the CFEL 2022 season 2 tournament system at the end of last year with important improvements. The name has been changed from Crossfire Elite League (CFEL) to Crossfire Vietnam Professional League (CFVL). A series of items such as prize structure and salaries for teams have also been significantly increased.
Specifically, the total prize money of this tournament is a huge number of 75,000 USD (about 1.8 billion VND). In which, the champion position can take home a prize of up to 30,000 USD.
In addition, the teams participating in the tournament will also be paid up to 2,000 USD/month for the months of March, April, May, and June. In this CFVL 2023 season 1 tournament, the list of 8 professional teams has been determined, including 4 teams that remained in the previous season, TheAnh28Game.CRH, Ranking Esports, Genius Esports, HeroKing.PodSanda and 4 teams that passed the semi-professional CSC 2023 season 1 tournament held in early April, PG Club, Ranking.Genius, VikingGaming, TT eSports Ranking.
Not only has the tournament's organization changed, but the situation of the teams has also changed a lot compared to last season. The strongest team currently, CELEBe.2L, has found a new sponsor and changed its name to TheAnh28Game.CRH. PG Esports changed its name to Genius Esports and left the PG brand. This brand will focus on its newly promoted team, PG Club. HeroKing also changed its name to HeroKing.PodSanda. The Ranking brand also rearranged the names of the teams it manages, such as Ranking Gaming changed to Ranking Esports, GG Ranking eSports changed to TT eSports Ranking and they also welcomed GearNC into their home with the new name Ranking.Genius.
The teams have gathered their squads and actively practiced at the gaming house to prepare for the upcoming official opening day. The competition schedule is expected to include 3 stages: The group stage will start from April 18 - June 6, the teams that pass the group stage will advance to the Playoff on June 7 and finally the final round will be held on June 8 to find the professional eSports champion of Crossfire.
