Resolving the recommendations of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company

(Baoquangngai.vn) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien - Head of the Working Group to support the progress of implementing large-scale, spillover non-budgetary investment projects in the province chaired a meeting to resolve the petition of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company (Hoa Phat Dung Quat).

The meeting took place on the afternoon of April 16.

Representatives of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company presented recommendations at the meeting.

Currently, Hoa Phat Dung Quat is implementing the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project and the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Railway Rail and Special Steel Production project. In particular, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Railway Rail and Special Steel Production project has a scale of about 18.39 hectares, located in the eastern Dung Quat Industrial Park, Binh Thuan Commune (Binh Son). Hoa Phat Dung Quat proposed a number of contents related to investment policies; land procedures; problems with unit price procedures; investment in resettlement infrastructure to clear the land for the project.

The Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex Project has a scale of 280 hectares, a total investment of VND85 trillion, and a designed capacity of 5.6 million tons of high-quality HRC/year. For this project, the company proposed a number of problems in compensation and site clearance; problems related to the approval of excess material storage areas and specialized port areas, sea areas, etc.

At the meeting, relevant departments, agencies and Binh Son district discussed a number of contents to clarify the difficulties of the two projects.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien emphasized that high-quality steel production projects are important and urgent projects to serve national key projects in accordance with the Government 's direction. The province's responsibility is to promptly resolve any problems and issues that arise in order to create conditions for the projects to be implemented as quickly as possible.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board and the provincial industrial parks to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to study suitable resettlement plans for Hoa Phat Dung Quat's projects. Relevant departments, branches and localities focus on handling the enterprises' recommendations in accordance with the law, with a completion timeline, and report the implementation results to the Provincial People's Committee.
