The Hanoi Singing Contest 2025 has many notable innovations. In 2025, the contest will expand its global scope, welcoming all contestants around the world , regardless of nationality, as long as they meet the conditions in the rules and regulations. However, international contestants will also have to perform and communicate in Vietnamese throughout the rounds. According to the Organizing Committee, this requirement both demonstrates the spirit of honoring Vietnamese culture and encourages international singers to experience and spread the beauty of the Vietnamese language to friends around the world. Another new highlight of this year's contest is the addition of challenges designed to be closely related to music such as improvisational singing, limited-time remixes, performing with musical instruments, etc.

2025 is also the first time that the final round of the competition has 4 competition nights. The prizes are also the highest ever: The special prize has a total value of up to 600 million VND, including cash and a Vinfast VF5 Plus car; 3 first prizes worth 100 million VND; 3 second prizes worth 50 million VND; 3 third prizes worth 30 million VND and the secondary prizes, each worth 10 million VND.

Candidates register from September 29 to October 25 via the HANOI ON App. Preliminary round 1 will take place from October 25 to 30. Preliminary round 2 will take place from November 1 to 4. The semi-finals for chamber music will take place on November 14, pop music on November 15 and folk music on November 16. The final round will take place on 4 nights (November 27, November 30, December 3, December 9).
