
The 2025 "Ly Son – Following the Footsteps of the Frontline" cross-country race attracted nearly 2,000 athletes from provinces and cities nationwide, competing in three distances: 5km, 10km, and 21km along the sunny and windy route of the frontline island district. The athletes immersed themselves in the sea and islands of the Fatherland, with national flags fluttering proudly in the open sea.

Athlete Ta Duy Tuyen from Dak Nong shared: “Today's weather is favorable for runners. I can appreciate the beautiful and wonderful natural scenery. In addition, the organizers have planted many national flags around the coastal and island running route, making the running atmosphere very inspiring.”

The route winds along the azure coastline, past characteristic garlic and onion fields, and through famous landmarks and historical sites of Ly Son such as: To Vo Gate, An Vinh and An Hai village communal houses, and the Truong Son House of the Hoang Sa Naval Squadron, marking the pioneering steps of the Hoang Sa Naval Squadron of yesteryear.
At the end of the race, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize in the men's 5km race to athlete Le Trong Phu; the first prize in the women's 5km race to athlete Bui Yen Ly; the first prize in the men's 10km race to athlete Dinh Quoc Vinh; the first prize in the women's 10km race to athlete Pham Thi Binh; the first prize in the men's 21km race to athlete Ta Duy Tuyen from Da Nang ; and the first prize in the women's 21km race to athlete Nguyen Thi Thu Ha from Quang Ngai province.
