Supervising the 2025 Tet bonus plan of enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City

(Dan Tri) - The key task of the labor sector in Ho Chi Minh City in November is to monitor the 2024 salary situation and the 2025 Tet bonus plan of enterprises.

On November 6, at Phu Duc Drug Rehabilitation Center (Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province), the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to review activities in October and the first 10 months of 2024.

At the conference, the Board of Directors of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City set out 12 key tasks in November 2024 for each area managed by the department.

In particular, the Labor - Wage - Social Insurance sector has the important task of developing and implementing a plan to monitor the implementation of regional minimum wages and pay salaries and bonuses on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 at enterprises in the city.

Previously, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also sent an official dispatch to the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of localities to survey and grasp the situation of wages and unpaid wages in 2024; and the bonus plans of enterprises during the New Year and Lunar New Year in 2025. The report results must be sent to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs before December 15.

In addition to supervising the Tet bonus plan, the leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City also requested all affiliated units to speed up the implementation of registered projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City has registered 2 City-level projects, 50 Department-level projects and 85 grassroots-level projects. The Department aims to complete them in 2024.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Le Van Thinh, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the department has completed 19/25 contents submitted to the City People's Committee (reaching 76% of the annual plan, with 15 contents completed ahead of schedule) and 25/30 contents of the department's work program (reaching 83.33% of the annual plan, with 13 contents completed ahead of schedule), with no late contents.

In the first 10 months of the year, many targets and tasks of the industry exceeded those of the same period in 2023, such as: Job creation increased by 2.96%; the number of new jobs increased by 6.14%; vocational training enrollment increased by 9.42%; vocational training for rural workers increased by 14.73%...

According to Mr. Le Van Thinh, activities connecting labor supply and demand continue to be effectively implemented, thereby contributing to a 10.5% reduction in the rate of workers applying for unemployment benefits and a 8.89% reduction in the number of people receiving unemployment benefits compared to the same period in 2023.

The Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City assessed: "The situation of labor relations continues to be maintained stably, harmoniously and progressively. Activities to propagate and disseminate legal regulations in the field of labor and employment have been given increased attention."

Currently, vocational training in the city is being implemented synchronously, meeting the requirements of the labor market. The number of trained workers is 88.05% of the total number of workers.
