On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, the Government decided to give 100,000 VND to all people nationwide to celebrate the Independence Day. The Ministry of Finance said that it will start giving 100,000 VND gifts to all people from August 30 and finish before September 2. In case of objective reasons, citizens can receive gifts after this deadline, but no later than September 15.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporters, many people expressed their excitement and joy when receiving a special gift from the State for the first time. Some plan to use this money for shopping, others save it and donate it to charity.

Ms. Khanh Huyen (Huong Son commune, Ha Tinh ) said she registered an account to receive social security money online on the VNeID application to receive money quickly and conveniently. After receiving 100,000 VND, she planned to spend it on September 2.

“I will use part of the money for breakfast, and the rest for a coffee date with friends. Although the amount is not much, it is a meaningful gift, helping me have more memories on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day,” she shared.

Unlike Ms. Huyen, Mr. Tran Tuan (Phong Dien Ward, Hue City) said that he could not integrate his social security account on VneID because the application kept having errors, so he would receive cash from the locality. He shared that he would not spend this money but keep the bill as a souvenir of an important event of the country.

Nguyen Nhat (Chuong My Ward, Hanoi) chose a different way to use it. He said he would send the 100,000 VND received to the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to support households and those in difficult circumstances. "Although this amount of money is not much, it is the sentiment of the Party and the State, I want to contribute more meaningfully by spreading it to those who need it more than me," he shared.

Similarly, although they have not yet received 100,000 VND from the Government, many individuals have proactively transferred money to support and share the joy. Ms. HH shared that she transferred 900,000 VND to the account of the fund to support sustainable community development on the evening of August 29.

She said that her family of three would receive a total of VND300,000, so she decided to contribute an additional VND600,000. "Receiving gifts from the Government on Independence Day is a joy. If everyone contributes a small amount of money to do great things, the joy will multiply many times over," she shared.

Ms. Huynh Hoa (HCMC) also transferred 100,000 VND to support the fund on August 30. She said she admired the meaningful program so she wanted to join hands to share.

According to Resolution 263 of the Government, each Vietnamese citizen and person of Vietnamese origin whose nationality has not been determined but has a citizen identification card, is residing in Vietnam and has a personal identification number in the National Population Database (as of August 30), will receive 100,000 VND in cash.

Specifically, the form of gift giving is a one-time gift according to the permanent household, the amount of money for each household is determined for each person in the household according to the national population data. The head of the household or a family member legally authorized by the head of the household is entitled to receive on behalf of each person according to the list and is responsible for delivering the gift to the members of the household.

In case a citizen does not have a permanent residence, the gift will be given directly to each citizen or to a person authorized by the citizen.

Gift giving is done through social security accounts on VNeID in cases where there is an integrated account or directly in cash in cases where there is no account at the payment point organized by the locality, ensuring timeliness, safety and efficiency.
