Director of Phu Yen Power Company Huynh Quoc Long said: Shifting and adjusting load is an effective solution, allowing customers to flexibly change their electricity consumption during peak hours or when the system is at risk of overload. Customers temporarily reducing or shifting their electricity usage outside of peak hours will help balance supply and demand and improve grid operation efficiency.
To ensure safe grid operation and prevent overload during peak hours, Phu Yen Electricity Company and its affiliated power companies have focused on promoting and mobilizing businesses and electricity customers to practice saving electricity and shifting electricity loads during peak hours.
Director of Dong Hoa Electricity Tran Van Huynh said: Before the hot season, Dong Hoa Electricity worked with all customers in the area, especially enterprises in the Industrial Park, on load regulation and shifting so that enterprises can adjust production time, limit the use of high-capacity equipment, and transfer power sources during peak hours... to create a balance between source and load.
Through propaganda, all manufacturing enterprises in the area understand and implement well the load shifting methods, contributing to the Electricity industry to regulate the load chart during peak electricity usage months.
According to Tuy An Electricity, this unit has implemented a load shifting and adjustment program to support against power shortages for the power system from April to July. Customers are also willing to participate in load shifting, load adjustment or mobilize their existing generators when necessary. Many businesses in the area have proactively coordinated with Tuy An Electricity to adjust production schedules, shifting part of their activities to off-peak hours.
The expansion of the load shifting and adjustment program not only helps reduce peak load, but also limits the risk of rotating power outages during peak hot weather, contributing to stabilizing production and daily life of customers.
Businesses actively participate
Since the beginning of April, the weather in the province has been continuously hot, so the demand for electricity has increased. According to the Phu Yen Electricity Company's Control Department, through monitoring, the highest electricity consumption in the whole province recorded in April was 173.3MW, and in May the figure was 187.6MW. With the current hot weather, the maximum capacity may continue to increase in the coming months, which is a great pressure on the electricity industry. In order to operate the power system effectively, ensure stable power supply and avoid grid overload, Phu Yen Electricity Company is focusing on implementing the Load Shifting Program, especially for businesses with large electricity output.
In the context of climate change and increasing pressure on ensuring energy security, businesses and people actively saving electricity as well as proactively participating in load shifting and adjustment programs are practical and strategic actions, not only helping to cope with the peak summer season, but also aiming towards sustainable development, energy saving and reducing greenhouse gas emissions for the future.

As one of the enterprises actively participating in the Load Shifting Program for many years, Ba Hai Joint Stock Company (Hoa Hiep Industrial Park, Dong Hoa Town) has applied many solutions to shift the electricity load during peak hours, bringing high efficiency. Mr. Nguyen Van Thuo, Head of Infrastructure Equipment Department of Ba Hai Joint Stock Company said: The company's factory is equipped with advanced production lines for seafood processing and large-scale freezing and cold storage systems, consuming an average of 500,000-650,000kWh of electricity per month. To minimize the amount of electricity consumed, the company has applied many solutions such as: When entering the peak hours of the Electricity industry, the company will transfer the power source used by the Control Center of the factory's freezing and cold storage system from using grid electricity to using electricity from the rooftop solar power system at the factory.
At the same time, during this time, all products in the warehouse will be kept cold at -10 o C until 20 hours before starting the product freezing system at -45 o C. In addition, before the hot season this year, the company also replaced 3 new cooling systems and 2 condensing systems... All of these solutions have helped the company save about 100 million VND/month, equivalent to about 10% of electricity consumption.
At Asta Healthcare USA Joint Stock Company (Hoa Hiep Industrial Park, Dong Hoa Town), right from the investment stage, the company has calculated the most optimal power saving options during the production process. All machinery, equipment, and production lines are invested in modern, with inverter technology. This unit also invested in a solar power system with a total capacity of 3MW. This will be a proactive energy source, replacing grid electricity during peak hours.
Mr. Le Van Hien, Project Director of this company said: The company also equipped a system to check, monitor, and collect data to collect all the power consumption of the entire production machinery system and related loads of the factory. This helps the technical department easily check, adjust, and allocate appropriate production schedules to bring the highest efficiency. This not only helps the company reduce electricity costs but also contributes to stabilizing the national power system, especially during the peak hot months.
