At the meeting, director Ho Ngoc Xum shared about the movie “Vang Trang Tho Tu” produced by Giai Phong Film Studio. This is one of the typical movies, widely received by the public in the Film Week commemorating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
The film is set in 1895-1901, when Uncle Ho (childhood name Nguyen Sinh Cung) and his parents and brother went to Hue. The footage was adapted by director and Meritorious Artist Ho Ngoc Xum based on a script by author Dang Thi Thanh Binh. The film's script won third prize in the "2020 Feature Film Scriptwriting Competition" organized by the Department of Cinema, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

“The Moon of Childhood” depicts the image of Uncle Ho’s childhood, the image of an innocent boy playing games like his peers. The film does not follow the direction of sanctifying Uncle Ho’s life, but from situations in everyday life, we can see his intelligence, observation, and filial piety that contributed to nurturing the precious seeds that created the character and personality of the great leader of the nation.
In addition to sticking to history with expert advice, the film will also have fictional details, but all are based on oral documents. This is a film project, not a biographical film or historical documentary about Uncle Ho. Therefore, there will be fictional details to make the film more attractive and easier to watch for the audience.
