On June 3, a parent of a student in Nam Dan district ( Nghe An province) sent a petition to the Board of Directors of Nam Dan 2 High School, Nam Dan district, reporting that a teacher in charge of the exam at this exam site had inappropriate behavior during the 10th grade high school entrance exam.

According to the parent, her child was a candidate taking the literature exam on the morning of June 3 at Nam Dan 2 High School. After the exam, the student returned home feeling sad, confused, and hurt by the disrespectful attitude of an invigilator in the exam room.

The parent's status was then posted on social media (Screenshot).

The parent reported that Mr. TVD, a teacher at Nam Dan 2 High School, used contemptuous words towards students while performing his exam invigilation duties. When a candidate asked for more exam papers, instead of supporting or encouraging him, Mr. D. said: "Why study so much, you will still have to work for hire or as a worker."

Not only that, when the teacher in the same room signed the student's paper, Mr. D. sarcastically said: "You love your job, huh?"

According to the report, Mr. D. almost never directly performed the task of invigilating the exam, but left the other teacher to take care of all the work in the exam room. He even had a contemptuous attitude towards his colleagues in front of the students.

In addition, parents were also upset that Mr. D. made disparaging statements about people who do not own cars, showing disrespect to parents and students from working-class families.

On social media, a comment appeared that was said to be posted by a leader of Nam Dan High School (Screenshot).

“Children are at a very sensitive age, every word, look, and attitude of teachers can deeply affect their psychology and belief in school andeducation ,” the parent wrote in the petition.

This parent said that sending the petition was not intended to attack the individual, but rather hoped that the school would have a form of timely reminder and correction so that teachers would better understand their responsibilities and impacts on students in the educational environment, especially during important exams.

This parent's petition then suddenly spread on social networks and quickly attracted public attention.

“A teacher’s words can help or hurt a student for life. Such statements cannot be taken lightly during an important exam,” a social media user shared.

Another person commented: “If a supervisor speaks like that, he should reconsider his professional qualifications. Students are under pressure from exams and should be supported, not judged and ridiculed.”

Meanwhile, QN account wrote: “Social media is a double-edged sword. Just because of one article, everyone thinks that the teacher is a bad person, not qualified to teach students, so everyone trusts social media too much. Only students who have studied with the teacher can feel that the teacher is very good.

My class is a C2 class, taught by a physics teacher. At first, he was harsh and blunt, but after 3 years of studying, I really understood him.

The teacher was very good, gradually the whole class got to know him, later he also became a friend for us to confide in. He also showed us the way forward. So I hope everyone will use social networks wisely, don't believe things without having direct contact with the teacher."

On the morning of June 4, the reporter contacted a representative of Nam Dan 2 High School to clarify the incident, but was unable to connect with the school's leadership.
