Teachers are tired of waiting for special recruitment, the city promises to resolve it before July 1

After nearly 15 years of working as a contract teacher at an elementary school in Buon Ma Thuot city, teacher An (name changed) expressed her concern that she and 35 other teachers have not been specially recruited by the city under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

All 36 teachers signed labor contracts, paid social insurance, and worked at public educational institutions in the area before December 31, 2015. They are eligible for special recruitment according to the instructions in Official Dispatch 5378 of 2019 of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In 2020, Dak Lak province organized special recruitment for teachers with labor contracts before 2015. However, some teachers encountered difficulties when they had a bachelor's degree but not in the field of pedagogical training but had a pedagogical certificate, so they were not approved but waited for comments from the authorities.

In January 2022, the Ministry of Education and Training issued an official dispatch agreeing to recruit teachers with a bachelor's degree in a major relevant to the subject not covered by teacher training and with a pedagogical certificate.

"Since the Ministry of Education and Training agreed to special recruitment for us, until now, Buon Ma Thuot city has not officially organized the recruitment exam, making the teachers very worried," said Ms. An.

According to Ms. An, up to now, in addition to her college degree, she has studied in a bridging program, obtained degrees from many universities and studied many other certificates but has not been officially recruited.

"All 36 teachers have worked for more than 10 years. We are enthusiastic and dedicated to our profession and hope to be recruited by the city before the district government is abolished on July 1, so that we can work with peace of mind," another teacher said.

It is known that in July 2024, the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot city announced the list of review content for the special recruitment period for teachers with contracts and social insurance contributions from December 31, 2015 or earlier at public educational institutions.

However, since then, Buon Ma Thuot city has not organized a recruitment exam, making the 36 teachers very anxious and worried.

Responding to Dan Tri reporter, a leader of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee confirmed that the unit has grasped the concerns of 36 contract teachers working at public schools in the area.

"The reason the city has not organized a recruitment period in the past is because it has to deal with some related problems. The city is taking steps to organize a special recruitment period for these teachers before July 1," the leader of the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot City emphasized.

As Dan Tri reported, on April 10, the Dak Lak Department of Home Affairs issued an official dispatch to stop recruiting education career civil servants in some localities in the province.

The reason is that in order to effectively implement Conclusion 127 and Conclusion 128 of the Politburo in the province, the plan to recruit educational career civil servants should be temporarily suspended until further instructions from competent authorities.

Then, on April 17, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee directed that teachers must be recruited according to regulations.

On April 21, the Dak Lak Department of Home Affairs issued an official dispatch on recruiting preschool and primary school teachers. Accordingly, it requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to urgently complete the recruitment of teachers in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training and the documents of the province.

Regarding the recruitment of teachers according to the approved plan, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities need to carefully consider and fully calculate the time and progress of implementation according to regulations, in order to ensure the completion of the procedures for recruiting teachers before the end of district-level activities on July 1.

"The Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities must take full responsibility for their decisions and absolutely must not let the end date of the district-level local government's operations come without completing the recruitment of teachers according to the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training," the official dispatch of the Department of Home Affairs clearly stated.
