Well drilling helps preserve forests.

Thanks to the well drilled by Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, when he was still Deputy Prime Minister, the Ya Krei Forest Management and Protection Station (Chu Mom Ray National Park) now has a stable source of clean water, ending the problem of water shortages during the dry season.

On August 26th, Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, Director of Chu Mom Ray National Park ( Quang Ngai province), announced that the drilled well donated by Comrade Tran Luu Quang has been put into operation, providing the Ya Krei Forest Protection and Management Station with a stable source of clean water, eliminating concerns about water shortages during the dry season.

According to Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, the Ya Krei Forest Protection and Management Station has 6 staff members, managing over 4,000 hectares of forest. For many years, the station's staff have faced difficulties due to frequent water shortages during the dry season.

In May 2024, while serving as Deputy Prime Minister , Comrade Tran Luu Quang and his delegation visited and inspected forest protection and fire prevention work during the dry season in Chu Mom Ray National Park and Ya Krei Forest Management Station (Mo Rai commune).

This forest protection station is located in a remote area with many difficulties and shortages, especially a lack of clean water during the dry season. Having learned about the lack of clean water for the forest protection force during the dry season, Comrade Tran Luu Quang donated a solar-powered well to the station.

According to Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy, the well was drilled in a location with hard, rocky soil, requiring a depth of 120 meters and the installation of a solar-powered operating system. The project was completed and put into operation in August 2024. After the first dry season, the well has provided sufficient water for the forest protection staff of the station, and surrounding households engaged in farming have also been able to use the water source.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, a forest protection officer at the Ya Krei Forest Management Station, said that in the past, during the dry season, the station frequently faced water shortages. Station staff had to carry water back in cans from the stream, which was very difficult. Since the well was drilled, the station no longer suffers from water shortages, allowing forest protection officers to work with peace of mind.
