Introducing the special Chamber Symphony art program "Song of Unification"

The special chamber symphony art program "Song of Unification" was assigned by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to the Military University of Culture and Arts to plan, organize practice and perform, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The program organizers met with the press on the afternoon of April 16.

At the press conference on the afternoon of April 16, at the second campus of the Military University of Culture and Arts, the program's Organizing Committee shared that this is one of the largest-scale military Chamber Symphony art programs ever, with a large number of performances, 60 participating musicians and a choir of 20 singers.

The overall content of the program includes the opening part of the Overture " Country on the Shore - Footprints Ahead " (author: Thai Van Hoa - Pham Minh Tuan; arranged by NS Do Bao; performed by: Military Symphony Orchestra - MSO), recreating Vietnam from the dawn of nation building, through many struggles to preserve sovereignty, to President Ho Chi Minh's journey to find a way to save the country and the development reaching new heights in the new era, including 3 chapters.

Chapter 1 - The South goes first and then comes back , including 5 works: Returning to the Motherland (Nguyen Van Thuong); Grateful to Ms. Vo Thi Sau (Nguyen Duc Toan); Battalion 307 (Nguyen Huu Tri); Ho on the banks of Hien Luong (Hoang Hiep); Each step makes us love our Fatherland more (Tan Huyen). The content of the works clearly reflects the historical space of the period of national liberation struggle until 1954.

Chapter 2 - Battle Songs , including the following works: Footsteps on the Truong Son Range (Vu Trong Hoi); On the top of Truong Son we sing (Huy Du); Your love (music: Huy Du - Lyrics: Ngoc Son); My homeland Quang Binh (Hoang Van); Two sisters (Hoang Van); Bringing rice to mother plowing (Han Ngoc Bich); Hanoi song (Vu Thanh). These melodies are the echoes from the past to the present, reminding future generations to remember a tragic and heroic period of our army and people.

Chapter 3 - Victory Monument , with works: Ben Tre's posture (Nguyen Van Ty); Dak Rong River in spring (To Hai); Medley: Spring in the war zone - Greetings to the liberation army, celebrating the great spring victory (Xuan Hong - Hoang Van); You are the belief in certain victory (Chu Minh); Song of unification (Vo Van Di); Mashup: Songs from the city named after You - The country rises up (Cao Viet Bach - Dang Trung - Duc Trinh, Lyrics: Le Canh Nhac); Victory Monument (Xuan Thuy)...

The program features the participation of the Army Symphony Orchestra; artists such as: People's Artist Duong Minh Duc, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, Meritorious Artist Pham Khanh Ngoc, Pham Thu Ha, Meritorious Artist Van Mai, Meritorious Artist Dinh Hoai Xuan, Do To Hoa, Luong Nguyet Anh, etc. Orchestra conductor: Colonel, People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac; Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach. General director: Colonel, Musician Ho Trong Tuan.
