Introducing the work "The Female Diplomat" by German female writer Lucy Fricke

In the work “The Diplomat”, the author tells a humorous and uncompromising story about the female diplomat Fred, who has lost faith in diplomacy. A German consul, who up to that point had known nothing but success, failed and was transferred to the politically turbulent land of Istanbul.

Between the court of justice and the summer villa, between secret service and German-Turkish cooperation, between intrigues and loneliness, the female diplomat touches the limits of friendship, national rule of law and European ideals.

What is special about Lucy Fricke's works is that they are formed on the basis of deep exploration and close contact with the environment and real people.

Hue public also had the opportunity to interact and exchange with the female author about the topic "Diplomacy from a literary perspective" and the circumstances of the work's creation.

This is a cooperative activity between “Intercultural Meeting Point” and the Goethe Institute in Hanoi to introduce German literature in Vietnam, and at the same time, create an opportunity for the Hue public to meet writer Lucy Fricke in an open discussion.

Lucy Fricke is a German writer. She worked in the film and entertainment industry before studying at the Leipzig Literary Institute. She has written five novels and received many awards.

That same evening, a special music program showing the cultural exchange between East and West also took place at the “Intercultural Meeting Point”.

During the program, the audience listened to the group of artists from Dong Kinh ancient music perform a program of traditional music combined with modern German literature.

Among them, the poetry collection “Rainbowl Performance” by German poet Jan Wagner, translated into Vietnamese by Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan, was composed into music by the Dong Kinh Co Nhac group and performed in the art forms of Tuong, Ca Tru and Hat Boi. This is a unique combination that demonstrates the integration of Eastern and Western cultures.
