On April 24, the Hoi An City delegation had a working session with the Mayor of Sakai City to promote cooperation in areas of interest to both sides.

On this occasion, Hoi An City coordinated with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, Sakai City Government, International Exchange Association and Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai City to organize the event "Hoi An Night in Sakai" on the afternoon of April 26 at Fenice Sakai Theater with many activities promising to bring exciting experiences about the culture of Hoi An, Quang Nam and Vietnam.

“Hoi An Night in Sakai” will introduce to the Japanese public an art program imbued with Hoi An culture such as: Traditional musical instrument concert, folk singing, folk dance, folk game of Bài Chòi… The artists will tell emotional stories about a poetic and nostalgic Hoi An, with the desire to bring visitors unforgettable feelings.

On this occasion, Hoi An City will also participate and perform at the Vietnam Festival in Osaka, the second time in 2024. This is one of the major events co-organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka on April 27-28 at Osaka City Park.

Hoi An is a place that preserves historical marks, relics, and cultural exchanges with Japan since it was an international trading port in the late 16th century. In Hoi An, the Japanese Covered Bridge relic, considered a symbol of the city, also has a deep mark of the Japanese and has a close connection to this day.
In addition, Hoi An annually organizes the Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange program with the participation of Japanese localities, organizations and individuals. In 2014, the 12th event was held in Sakai City and 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of this special event.
