Hanoi: 6 people were electrocuted due to an electric leak from a lighting pole on Tu Mo Street.

On October 7, the Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police said that at about 10:00 a.m. the same day, at the Tu Mo - Pham Hung intersection (Yen Hoa Ward, Hanoi City), the water was about 30cm deep, many people passing by had symptoms of numbness in their limbs, some even collapsed, suspected to be affected by electric current leaking under the water.

After discovering the incident, the working group of Traffic Police Team No. 6, Traffic Police Department on duty in the above area quickly contacted the electricity unit, coordinated inspection, identified the power leak source and promptly repaired it, ensuring safety for people and vehicles passing by.

To prevent possible recurrence of the risk, Traffic Police Team No. 6 mobilized specialized vehicles to help transport people and vehicles through flooded areas and guide people to move along safe routes.

A resident fell near the area when there was an electrical leak.

According to the Scene Report made this morning, October 7, including Urban Lighting and Equipment Company Limited and Vimeco Joint Stock Company, at the above time, the functional unit received a report from an officer reporting an electric leakage incident at the location in front of the lighting pole at the beginning of Tu Mo Street (the section where Pham Hung turns right) belonging to the lighting line managed and operated by Vimeco Joint Stock Company, causing pedestrians to be shocked.

After receiving the information, Team 4 of the Enterprise sent management staff to inspect and discovered that at the location of the electric leak, there was a steel pole and the lighting cabinet of Vimeco Joint Stock Company was still energizing the timer system, but due to the incorrect timer setting, the lighting system was still operating and there was electricity leaking out when there was a flood. In this record, the parties also recorded that 6 people on the street were electrocuted.

Lighting Equipment Company requested Vimeco Joint Stock Company to take drastic measures to ensure the safety of the entire system managed by Vimeco Joint Stock Company, which has not been handed over to Hanoi City for management.
