Previously, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District said that the district currently has 1,261 signs of all kinds, including 668 traffic signs and 593 street name signs.

The street name sign system consists of 92 types placed on poles and attached to the walls of houses. On average, there are 1-6 traffic signs at intersections.

There are some intersections with 9 or more traffic signs such as Phung Hung - Hang Bong, Hang Bai - Ly Thuong Kiet, Cau Dat border gate.

Many large signs, mounted on different poles, occupy sidewalk space, affecting pedestrians. Some signs are not installed in reasonable locations.

Therefore, it is necessary to arrange and improve the traffic sign system, street name signs, and attach QR codes on the streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake area and vicinity.

Installing QR codes on street names will create more tourist highlights, suitable for the trend of using information technology, digital transformation policy and open applications to promote tourism, building Hoan Kiem district into a civilized, modern urban area, a key tourist destination...

The operation to look up information from QR codes is quite simple, the lookup person only needs to download or install specialized QR code lookup software such as QR code Reader, QR Scanner... or use built-in software on mobile devices such as Zalo QR.

For mobile devices, just open the camera in the device to scan the QR code, the QR code is made of reflective paper material, durable, not affected by weather, can quickly retrieve information.
