According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting's afternoon bulletin on May 29th, on May 30th, the Northern and North Central regions will continue to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with sunny periods. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

From June 1st to 3rd, provinces and cities in the Northern region will experience hot weather; particularly in the midland and lowland areas of the Northern region (including Hanoi ), widespread heatwaves are likely. This is the next heatwave following the series of intense heatwaves at the end of May 2026.

The Hanoi City Civil Defense Command assessed that, due to the effects of hot weather combined with low humidity, there is a risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, and also a risk of forest fires.

To proactively respond to the heatwave, the Hanoi City Civil Defense Command requests that the People's Committees of communes and wards, and relevant departments and agencies, according to their assigned functions and duties, focus on directing and organizing response efforts.

The main tasks include organizing a strict duty roster in accordance with regulations; closely monitoring and forecasting weather, meteorological, hydrological, and water resource developments; and disseminating information on heatwave forecasts and warnings through mass media and the websites of specialized agencies.

Provide timely information and reports in the event of natural disasters or incidents caused by heatwaves.

The Hanoi City Civil Defense Command also requested that localities raise awareness and responsibility in forest fire prevention and control; inspect, supervise, and guide the control of fire use in and near forests by the people.

In particular, local authorities need to immediately stop using fire to clear vegetation and other fire-related activities that pose a risk of forest fires during peak periods, especially in areas with a high risk of forest fires.
