Accordingly, this year Yen Hoa High School enrolls 765 students and has 1,869 candidates registering their first choice to enter the school. This is also the school leading in the competition ratio for public 10th grade in Hanoi this year with 1/2.44 (last year the competition ratio was 1/3.1).

Le Quy Don High School - Ha Dong has the second highest competition ratio in Hanoi with 1/2.35; followed by Kim Lien High School 1/2.15, Dong Da High School 1/2.10.

The schools with the next highest competition ratios are Hoai Duc C High School with 1/1.99; Cau Giay High School 1/1.96; Ngo Thi Nham High School 1/1.94; Phan Dinh Phung High School 1/1.93; Khuong Ha High School 1/1.93; Nhan Chinh High School 1/1.89.

This year, out of about 127,000 ninth graders graduating from junior high school, about 110,000 students wish to take the entrance exam to public tenth graders. Compared to the number of ninth graders in Hanoi last year, this year there is a decrease of about 6,000 students.

The entrance exam for grade 10 in Hanoi will take place on June 7 and 8 with three subjects: math, literature, and foreign language (for non-specialized students) and students taking the exam for specialized students will take an additional specialized subject on June 9.

Among the adjustments to this year's exam, it is worth noting that the admission score for public grade 10 - non-specialized group is the total score of 3 exam subjects and priority and incentive points (if any). Thus, all 3 exam subjects have a coefficient of 1. While in previous years, the exam scores for literature and math had a coefficient of 2, and foreign language had a coefficient of 1.

According to regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, each student has a maximum of 3 wishes to enter a public high school. Of which, wishes 1 and 2 must be in the prescribed admission area; wishes 3 can be in any admission area.

According to the schedule, from July 4 to July 6, public high schools and specialized high schools in Hanoi are expected to announce the admission scores for grade 10. From July 10 to July 12, admitted students must confirm their enrollment.
