Hanoi launches health examination and management program for people

According to the report of the People's Committee of Me Linh district, the program of examining and establishing health records for people in Me Linh district has profound and practical humanistic significance in the work of managing, caring for, protecting and improving people's health. This activity was implemented from April 24 to the end of May 2023, with the participation of more than 400 doctors and nurses from 15 central hospitals and Hanoi City. In addition, Me Linh district also mobilized nearly 1,000 union members, youth, members of mass organizations, teachers and volunteers to participate in support.

After 20 days of implementing the program, Me Linh district has organized medical examinations and established electronic health management records for 41,352 people in communes and towns. On May 15 alone, at the Me Linh Culture - Information and Sports Center, doctors and nurses examined about 500 people. It is expected that by May 31, the district will complete medical examinations and establish health records for more than 180,000 people in this period. In particular, the entire funding source of more than 20 billion VND was called for support from organizations and individuals in the area.  

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said that Me Linh district has been ahead of the curve in providing health care to the entire population. After this examination, he suggested that Me Linh district continue to improve health care for the people, especially the elderly, children, and vulnerable groups, aiming for 100% of the local population to receive a health check-up at least once a year.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said that in recent years, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and all levels and sectors of the city have paid attention to, focused on leading, directing and implementing well the work of social security and welfare, improving the quality of life of the people. The city identified this as a key task, an urgent requirement to ensure sustainable development, progress, social justice, demonstrating the humane and noble tradition of our nation.

“This is a very practical and meaningful activity in ensuring social security, especially for those in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances in the district; promptly detecting, consulting, and classifying treatment for cases of illness, consulting on health care, establishing electronic health management records for people; reducing the burden of medical examination and treatment for upper-level medical facilities,” emphasized comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tuan.

In order for the health examination and care program for people in Me Linh district to be highly effective, Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan suggested that Me Linh district focus on directing and effectively implementing the plan for health examination, management and care for people to ensure practicality and meaning; attracting a large number of people to participate. During the implementation process, the district will evaluate, draw lessons, and report the implementation results to the Steering Committee of Program 08 of the City Party Committee and the Department of Health. On that basis, the city will consider replicating this model to other localities of Hanoi.

The Chairman of the City People's Council also requested the staff, doctors and nurses of central hospitals and hospitals in Hanoi to promote the medical ethics of physicians, closely coordinate with the Party Committee and authorities of Me Linh district to organize health check-ups for people, and promptly advise and treat cases of detected diseases.
