Hanoi to launch double-decker tourist train

The luxuriously designed double-decker tourist train will run from Hanoi Station to Tu Son Station (Bac Ninh). The train is called “Hanoi 5-door” (internationally known as The Hanoi Train), with large windows for passengers to enjoy the scenery and participate in many experiences during the journey.

The train has a classic color scheme, but a modern design style to create an enjoyable experience for visitors.

The “Hanoi 5-gate” train will be the first specialized train for tourism activities operating in Hanoi. The train is designed with 10 carriages. Of which, 5 passenger carriages are designed with themes related to 5 famous gates in the history of Thang Long-Hanoi: Quan Chuong Gate, Cau Den Gate, Dong Mac Gate, Cau Giay Gate and Cho Dua Gate.

The interior space of the train has a classic and modern feel, with large windows opening wide so that passengers can admire the scenery of the capital from a different perspective.

The design of the train cars aims to combine transportation with the needs of resting, experiencing culture and taking photos, suitable for the tastes of locals and tourists. The tourist train will officially operate from August 19, at the time when Hanoi is expected to welcome a large number of domestic and international tourists.

In the first phase of operation, 7 train cars will be put into operation, with 3 trips/day, departing from Hanoi station, passing through Long Bien, Gia Lam, Yen Vien, Tu Son ( Bac Ninh ) and returning to the starting point. Fixed time slots include: 8:00, 14:00 and a special trip from Hanoi at 20:00. After the first phase, the next phase, the train will add a restaurant car and a coffee car, gradually forming a closed tourism ecosystem on the sightseeing journey by rail.

Different from traditional means of transport, The Hanoi Train is positioned as a mobile cultural space, where passengers can participate in musical activities, mini exhibitions, interactive conversations, and experience Hanoi memories through a modern approach.

The operation of the tourist train is the result of cooperation between Vietnam Railways Corporation and BHL Tourism Investment Company (Quan Su Street, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi). Currently, the investor, BHL Tourism Investment Company, is completing the final stages for the train to officially put it into operation and exploitation in the coming days.
