On July 16, a representative of Ninh Binh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said that the two babies, who are siblings, were admitted to the hospital in serious condition. The parents of the two babies also showed signs of dizziness and mild headaches.
The family was traveling in a car driven by a relative towards the old Ha Nam province. After about an hour of traveling, both children showed signs of abnormality and were taken to Ha Nam General Hospital for first aid. When their health was temporarily stable, the family requested to transfer them to Ninh Binh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for further treatment.
The child was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and car gas poisoning, but the source of the gas poisoning is currently unknown. Doctors administered oxygen, intravenous fluids, antibiotics, and closely monitored vital signs. The child is currently recovering well and has been discharged from the hospital.
Doctors advise that if you suspect a child is suffocating, you should quickly remove the child from the dangerous area, ensure the airway is clear, call an ambulance or take them to the nearest medical facility as soon as possible. Absolutely do not give your child medicine or use folk remedies on your own.
