Two complementary solutions to tobacco control

According to information from the Ministry of Health , lung cancer ranks second in new cases in Vietnam with 26,262 cases/year. Of which, cigarette smoke is the culprit causing 90% of cases. Notably, many people have smoked for up to 40 years, tried to quit smoking but failed, when cancer was discovered it was too late.

Therefore, the program will be a place to provide objective scientific information on solutions to reduce the harmful effects of tobacco for smokers, aiming to gradually eliminate tobacco smoke in the community. The combination of two solutions: smoking cessation and tobacco harm reduction is expected to help achieve many new steps in the national tobacco control strategy.
