The 2025 Red River Festival will take place in November in Lao Cai

The Red River Festival 2025 will take place from November 18 to 24 in Lao Cai province with many unique and attractive activities.

Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has just issued plan No. 131/KH-UBND on organizing the Red River Festival in 2025 with the theme "Where the Red River flows into Vietnam".

The Red River Festival 2025 is a practical activity to celebrate the success of the 1st Lao Cai Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 and towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

This is also an event of important political , diplomatic, economic and cultural significance, contributing to creating momentum to promote economic growth, expand cooperation and foreign relations between Lao Cai, the Red River basin provinces of Vietnam and Yunnan province of China.

Within the framework of the Festival, there will be the Lao Cai Shan Tuyet Tea Festival 2025 in Van Chan commune with the theme "Tea scent in the clouds"

At the same time, this event also affirms the strategic position of Lao Cai in the region, associated with the historical and cultural flow of the Red River civilization; Honoring unique cultural values, arousing the love of homeland and pride of the people and tourists about the thousand-year history of their ancestors in Lao Cai land; promoting the tourism potential of the locality.

Accordingly, the Red River Festival 2025 will take place from November 18 to 24 at Kim Tan Square. It is expected that about 500 delegates will attend, including leaders of the Party, State, ministries and international guests such as ambassadors from France, China, Denmark, India, Thailand, Laos and a delegation from Yunnan province.

During the Festival, there are many attractive activities such as: Organizing 13 exhibition spaces, reenacting cultural rituals, performing folk songs and dances, handicrafts, typical OCOP products; displaying documents and artifacts on the Red River culture and cooperation in developing the Red River basin and Yunnan - China...

At Coc Leu market area and An Duong Vuong street, "Ancient Coc Leu Market" will be recreated with the ancient market cultural space, daily life, trading and folk games; Vietnam - China sports exchange activities, 11-a-side football exchange competition between business and youth teams of Lao Cai province and Yunnan province at Lao Cai Provincial Stadium.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also organizes the "Red River Festival" Golf Tournament 2025; the "One track, two countries" international cycling race (Hong Ha - Lao Cai) from November 28 - 30 and the 2025 Lao Cai Shan Tuyet Tea Festival in Van Chan commune with the theme "Tea scent in the clouds"...

The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8:00 p.m. on November 19 at Nam Cuong Square, Cam Duong Ward with a special art program, 15 minutes of low-altitude fireworks display and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
