Hai Phong strives for 60% of young people to use the domain name "id.vn" by 2026

On the afternoon of November 4, the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Phong coordinated with the Vietnam Internet Center (Ministry of Science and Technology) to organize the implementation of the program "Promoting and supporting people, businesses, and business households to have a reliable and safe online presence with digital services using the national domain name .vn" for the period 2025 - 2026.

The conference was held directly at the Department of Science and Technology, connecting online to 114 points of communes, wards, special zones and universities, colleges and intermediate schools in the city.

The program "Promoting and supporting people, businesses, and business households to have a reliable and safe online presence with digital services using the national domain name .vn" for the period 2025 - 2026 is considered an important solution to support people, businesses, and business households to develop their business in the digital environment; contributing to promoting the development of the digital economy and improving the digital transformation index (DTI) of Hai Phong.

This is also an activity to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; at the same time, realizing Resolution No. 09 of the Hai Phong City Party Committee on comprehensive digital transformation.

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Science and Technology, Vietnam Internet Center, sectors, localities, and ".vn" domain name registrars jointly launched the program "Trusted and secure online presence with the national domain name .vn" for the period 2025 - 2026 throughout Hai Phong city.

By 2026, Hai Phong aims for 50-60% of young people and students to use the domain name "id.vn". About 40-50% of businesses and business households will use the domain name "biz.vn".

On this occasion, the program awarded a solution package including 150,000 "biz.vn" domain names and digital services (website, email) to support businesses and business households in building their online brands for free for the first 2 years, expanding the market and enhancing the reputation of Vietnamese brands on the internet.

The program also gave away a solution package of 93,000 "id.vn" domain names and free digital services (website, email) to universities and colleges in the city, mainly Hai Phong University. At the same time, it honored 10 students of the Faculty of Economics - Hai Phong University who pioneered the application of the "id.vn" domain name in learning and digital startups, spreading the message "Each student - A digital identity with the .vn domain name."
