The exhibition "80 Years of Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" taking place from August 28 to September 5, in Hanoi on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2) is a special political and social event. This is an opportunity for the whole country to look back on the journey of 8 decades of building and defending the Fatherland, at the same time, honoring the outstanding achievements of the nation in all fields.
The distinctive mark of the Port City
Together with ministries, branches, localities, Hai Phong city participated in the exhibition with the theme "Hai Phong - Faith and aspiration to rise with the country" in 2 spaces in the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ). Of which, the indoor space (375 m²) in Kim Quy building and the outdoor space (10,000 m²) in the East yard.
The exhibition space includes 11 thematic groups, comprehensively reflecting the city's development stages from 1945 - 1955, 1955 - 1986 to 1986 - 2025 with topics such as: "Echo of Thunder on Road 5", "Hai Phong - industrial city, the driving force of the country's development", "Hai Phong - heritage city", "Hai Phong tourism - potential and advantages", "Hai Phong culture - the driving force of sustainable development", "Hai Phong - city of innovation and creativity"...
Mr. Tran Van Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: "The exhibition "80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" is a special occasion for Hai Phong to promote the image of a dynamic, integrated city, rich in cultural identity, with great socio-economic potential. Not only introducing achievements, the exhibition also demonstrates Hai Phong's responsibility and aspirations to reach out in the new period. The cooperation of 83 businesses participating in the outdoor space and accompanying units is the strength for us to bring a display space worthy of the city's position".
The indoor exhibition area is designed as a multi-layered journey of discovery, combining cultural heritage, economic strength and the desire for innovation. The entrance simulates the modern STS crane system at Lach Huyen port, the highlight is the model of the Truong Minh Dream 01 ship - the largest bulk carrier in Vietnam, built by Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Company Limited. The prominent exhibition points include: a 6-screen interactive sand table area, a cultural heritage area, "The historical road - Echoes of thunder on Road 5", an agricultural - social security - foreign affairs - defense area and a multi-layered experience area simulating the Truong Minh ship with 3D mapping projection technology, modern touch...
The outdoor area is imbued with the atmosphere of the Port City with a welcome gate simulating a container crane, the image of a cargo ship stretching across the waves, and the City Theater. The miniatures are elaborately designed: “Free Trade Zone” with an upward arrow symbol, “Con Son - Kiep Bac Relic Complex” like an open book telling the story of heritage, “Cat Ba Archipelago” with its majestic image recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage…
Each exhibition cluster combines images, artifacts, models and projection technology, with explanations in 5 languages, to ensure international accessibility, fully expressing the strong, open, creative and traditional Hai Phong identity.

The exhibition was attended by 83 Hai Phong enterprises in an outdoor space, representing the city’s fields of industry, logistics, trade, tourism, cuisine, manufacturing, processing, services, etc. Each booth not only introduced products but also told a brand story associated with the city’s development journey.
