Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City said: Hai Phong City will welcome the Red Flamboyant Festival with a very special spirit to prepare for the 70th anniversary of the city's Liberation Day.
In particular, on May 13, the city was also honored to receive the title of “Heroic City”. This is an extremely noble title and Hai Phong became the second locality in the country, after Ho Chi Minh City, to be awarded this title by the President.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, the program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day will take place from 8:10 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on May 13, broadcast live on VTV1, the National Digital Television Platform (VTV Go) and rebroadcast on Hai Phong City Television, and a number of local channels across the country.
At this event, for the first time, Hai Phong city organized fireworks displays at 6 locations in the area at the same time, including: The Square of the Administrative Political Center of the North Song Cam New Urban Area; An Bien Lake Area; Vinhomes Vu Yen Urban Area Park and Square; the backyard of the City Theater; Duong Kinh District Administrative Center and Tien Lang District Stadium.
In addition, Hai Phong city also organized many activities to respond to and celebrate this event such as: a program of reviewing the team and mass parade including 42 groups representing the forces and social classes that have united and joined hands in protecting, building and developing the city over the past 70 years.
Along with that is a series of art performances: music and dance; Cheo art; comedy; amateur music; street art programs; international art programs with the participation of art troupes from: China, Korea, Japan...
On this occasion, Hai Phong city will organize a gift giving ceremony for people with revolutionary contributions, policy beneficiaries, former city leaders, doctors, teachers, meritorious artists... with an estimated cost of about 7 billion VND.
