Customs needs to be more innovative in supporting businesses

Speaking at the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh assessed that this is a necessary annual event, aiming to promote the partnership between customs and businesses to effectively implement State financial, tax and customs policies.

In 2023, the world situation continues to change rapidly and complicatedly. The domestic economy in general and the city's economy in particular continue to face great difficulties, especially in import-export, trade and investment activities of enterprises.

In that situation, the city's customs sector has put forward many solutions and support activities to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for import and export activities for businesses in general and businesses in the city in particular, which is timely.

In the context of businesses facing many difficulties, customs agencies are facing an increase in both breadth and depth of work, limited human resources, while still having to ensure a balance between trade facilitation and strict risk control. This requires customs agencies to have effective customs management methods.

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh requested the Customs Department to continue promoting the achieved results, enhancing innovation to perform well the assigned tasks and promote the customs-business partnership to develop even stronger.

Concentrate all resources to implement key tasks and orient a number of activities so that the development of customs-business partnership becomes increasingly effective and substantive.

For the business community and investors, it is necessary to proactively innovate production and business models towards digital transformation, improve competitiveness, and move towards participating in the global value chain.

City leaders will direct departments, branches, sectors and relevant parties to enhance the spirit of initiative and creativity, reform administrative procedures, improve the investment and business environment, and the quality of policy and law enforcement.

Synchronously and effectively deploy coordination work with customs agencies to support the business community operating in import and export activities in the area to continue to develop, make stronger and more sustainable breakthroughs in the coming time.

According to the report at the conference, in 2023, the Customs Department will increase the organization of consultation and dialogue conferences to disseminate legal documents and policies and promptly answer questions for the business community related to import and export activities.

To date, the Customs Department has organized 11 dialogue conferences online and in person (including 1 department-level conference and 10 branch-level conferences) with the participation of 244 enterprises and answered 93 arising problems.

The rate of resolving problems and providing guidance to businesses reached 100% and there were no remaining problems or recommendations from businesses that had not been resolved.

At the conference, businesses listened to opinions on customs procedures, goods management policies, origin, goods classification, specialized management, declaration errors on the national aviation single window mechanism system, conditions for businesses to comply with...

The representative of the General Department of Customs awarded 5 certificates to enterprises that are members of the pilot program to support and encourage enterprises to voluntarily comply with customs laws, including: Hoa Phat Da Nang Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., Song Thu Corporation - Co., Ltd., 28 Da Nang Joint Stock Company, Truong Giang Electricity Joint Stock Company, Niwa Foundry Vietnam Co., Ltd.
