In February, the Cao Bang Customs Department collected over 66.18 billion VND in revenue, an increase of 8.4% compared to the previous month.
Revenue in February showed an upward trend, mainly driven by the increase in several import and export items such as: automobiles (up 12%); nickel concentrate (up 84%); veneer (raw material for wood product surfaces) (up 52%)...
However, during the month, some traditional items also saw a decrease in revenue compared to the previous month, such as: fabrics (down 21%); coke (down 64%); machinery and equipment (down 98%); groceries (down 73%); lead ingots (down 100%)...
In the first two months of the year, the Cao Bang Customs Department collected over 127.23 billion VND in budget revenue, a decrease of 18% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 21% of the target set by the Ministry of Finance (600 billion VND) and 20% of the target set by the Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee (632 billion VND).
Regarding import and export activities, turnover showed high growth compared to the same period in 2023, especially exports. However, the growth in turnover was mainly in goods that do not incur taxes, so it did not significantly impact the revenue collection results of the Cao Bang Customs Department.
Specifically, in the first two months of the year, the total import and export turnover processed at Cao Bang Customs reached over 95 million USD, an increase of 145% compared to the same period last year, of which exports reached 68 million USD, an increase of 346%, and imports reached 27 million USD, an increase of 12%.
The main export items are seafood, fruits and vegetables, cashew nuts, coffee, pepper, etc.; while imports include fruits and vegetables; ores and other minerals; various types of coal; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts; various types of fabrics, etc.
One of the reasons for the high increase in export turnover through Cao Bang Customs in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2023 is that at this time last year, import and export activities through the area were still facing many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and control measures by the Chinese side in the border area with Cao Bang province.
