The above information was shared by a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh this morning (July 6). Accordingly, from July 1, the People's Committee of the new Bac Ninh province (merged from the old Bac Ninh and Bac Giang ) signed a decision from July 1 after merging the professional agencies of the two provinces.
Accordingly, Bac Ninh Specialized High School becomes Bac Ninh Specialized High School No. 1 and Bac Giang Specialized High School has a new name, Bac Ninh Specialized High School No. 2.
This is the first province in the country to change the name of specialized schools after the merger from 63 to 34 provinces and cities.
The old Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted is now Bac Ninh High School No. 1.
Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training sent Official Dispatch 1581 to localities on ensuring the maintenance and improvement of the quality and efficiency of public educational institutions in administrative units when implementing two-level local government.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Education and Training requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to implement state management of education for the sector's expertise; recruitment, arrangement, transfer, secondment, and development of teaching staff by provincial-level professional agencies to uniformly implement throughout the province to regulate in general and handle local teacher shortages.
After merging at the provincial level and abolishing the district level, localities still maintain educational public service units and transfer to commune-level authorities the function of state management of education for kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools.
In the content of Official Dispatch No. 1581 and related documents, the Ministry of Education and Training also did not mention changing school names after implementing the 2-level local government model.
However, most schools in many localities still use names with the words "town", "town", "ward", "commune". Therefore, after the merger, the school names will no longer be suitable and need to be renamed to suit the actual situation. This will be decided by the local authorities.
After the merger, the new Bac Ninh province is expected to have an area of 4,718.6 km², a population of 3,619,433 people and 99 commune-level administrative units (66 communes and 33 wards). The province was established on the basis of merging the entire area and population of the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang.
After the merger, the Secretary of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee is Mr. Nguyen Van Gau and the Chairman of the People's Committee is Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan.
