(Dan Tri) - Theeducation sector of Lien Chieu district (Da Nang) requires limiting outdoor recreational and extracurricular activities; not organizing outdoor student gatherings on days of bad weather.

Bui Thi Xuan Primary School (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang ) caused controversy when it asked students to take off their coats during a school activity, despite the cold weather.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lich, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Lien Chieu district, said the school had reported this incident.

According to the report, the school said that when the performance took place, the weather was cold but the school yard was filled with more than 1,700 students, causing their body temperatures to rise.

The principal asked the teachers to check each student carefully and only ask them to take off their coats when they were ready. The performance lasted for about 5-7 minutes.

This has made many parents angry and reflected on social networks. The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Lien Chieu district said that the parents' comments are necessary and requested the school's board of directors to meet, re-evaluate and learn from the experience.

Mr. Lich added that the department has issued a document to the principals of kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in the area to strengthen measures to protect the health of children and students during the cold season.

Schools are required to monitor weather forecasts, update developments of cold air, inform teachers, parents and students; coordinate with parents to guide students on cold prevention measures.

Schools and educational institutions should coordinate with parents to remind students to dress warmly; schools do not require students to wear uniforms on cold days.

For boarding schools, it is necessary to ensure that there is warm water to care for and serve children and students; focus on the quality of meals to ensure nutrition and keep food warm.

School health workers prepare medicine to treat common winter diseases; focus on increasing communication to parents about common cold-season diseases.

During very cold days, schools can adjust their schedules based on weather conditions. In case students are late due to weather conditions, flexible arrangements must be made so that students can attend school.
