By the end of May 2025, Korea had welcomed 224,000 tourists from Vietnam, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2024. This is considered a positive sign of Korean tourism in the Vietnamese market in the context of the volatile economic and geopolitical situation in the world. Promoting this growth momentum, KTO Vietnam has actively implemented many activities to promote the effectiveness of tourist exchange between the two countries.
Most recently, on June 21-22, 2025, at GEM Center, Ho Chi Minh City, the Korea Tourism Organization coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea to organize the Korea Travel Festa 2025 event - the largest Korean culture and tourism promotion festival in 2025, with more than 30 booths from leading units in the fields of tourism, culture, and entertainment of Vietnam and Korea, reaching more than 70,000 visitors.

In the near future, KTO will continue to participate in the International Travel Fair ITE in Ho Chi Minh City to expand its cooperation network with partners in the southern region. At the same time, the annual event Korea Travel Award 2025 will also be held to honor outstanding partners, contributing to promoting long-term strategic relations in the tourism sector between the two countries.
In particular, in the second half of 2025, KTO will focus on promoting diverse Korean transit tour products for Vietnamese tourists flying from Vietnam to the US, Europe or other countries with transit flights in Korea.
With a visa-free policy for transit travelers, free programs such as city tours around Seoul, or paid products with a variety of culinary, cultural and shopping options, transit tours are considered an attractive option for passengers who want to take advantage of their transit time to explore a part of Korea during their trip.
Ms. Park Eun Jung, Chief Representative of KTO in Vietnam, said: Through a series of diverse promotional activities, combining both direct and online forms, KTO wishes to actively accompany Vietnamese travel companies in developing specialized tourism products, such as K-Culture tour, Premium tour, Sports tour, as well as supporting charter groups to Korea.
“We want to bring Vietnamese tourists new, unique and authentic Korean experiences. It is expected that in 2025, Korea will continue to welcome more than 500,000 visitors from Vietnam, maintaining Vietnam's achievement as one of the Southeast Asian markets with the highest number of visitors to Korea,” Ms. Park Eun Jung shared.
