Released in late September, the Elon Musk biography, written by Walter Isaacson, takes readers on a journey back to the SpaceX founder, covering everything from his childhood in South Africa to his romances and his takeover of Twitter (now known as X).
Walter Isaacson's biography of Elon Musk
Independent film studio A24 has won the rights to adapt the book after a "hard-fought" bidding war. It is known that the person in charge of this version is the Oscar-nominated director, Darren Aronofsky, for the film Black Swan . Last year, he also directed the big hit film with Brendan Fraser - The Whale with A24.
The film has not yet announced any information about the cast or script, but it has received a lot of public attention because of Isaacson's talent and success in adapting his previous works.
Former chairman and CEO of CNN, Isaacson is the author of a series of biographies, including Henry Kissinger, Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein. His best-selling 2011 biography of Apple CEO Steve Jobs was adapted into a 2015 biopic of the same name starring Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle.
However, upon its release, Isaacson's work was heavily criticized, with many review sites calling it dull, boring, and containing some inaccurate details.
While it has not yet been announced which actor will play Musk, 52, in Aronofsky's film, some fans believe the role will go to Canadian actor Kevin Durand , who has a similar look and has earned a reputation in many major productions.
Far from the media portrayal, Isaacson’s book reveals that Musk’s personal life was less “successful” than the press portrayed. “Musk was not raised to have peace in his family,” Isaacson writes, adding that most of his relationships “were bordering on psychological dysfunction.”
Elon Musk later retweeted the news on his X platform, tweeting, “So happy Darren is taking on the film. He’s one of the best directors.”
