On July 18, the leader of Phu Son Lam Ha commune, Lam Dong province, said that the locality is coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate and clarify the case of pine forest destruction in the area to handle it according to the law.

Initially, the authorities recorded about 20 ancient pine trees, with a base diameter of about 1 meter and height of 20 to 30 meters, that had been illegally cut down . Most of the pine wood was still lying around at the scene. The subjects had only taken the base, sawed it into short segments, in the form of round wood shaped like a table top.

Some of the stumps were buried with soil and leaves by the loggers or set on fire to make the scene look old. The area of the forest that was cut down is under the management of the Lam Ha Protective Forest Management Board.

Ancient pine trees, with a base diameter of about 1 meter and height of 20 to 30 meters, were cut down.

Currently, the authorities have counted the damage to forest resources and prepared a case file to handle the incident. At the same time, they are investigating and searching for the person who cut down the above pine trees .
