On the afternoon of March 30, the Hanoi Department of Health announced the initial cause of the food poisoning incident after a field trip that caused many students at Kim Giang Primary School (in Kim Giang Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) to be hospitalized.
Accordingly, through verification and testing, it was found that the initial cause of this mass poisoning was due to staphylococcus aureus bacteria infecting chicken in the students' meals. Currently, most of the poisoned students have been discharged from the hospital, only 4 students are being monitored at the hospital in a basically stable health condition.
Thanh Xuan District People's Committee continues to direct the investigation at Kim Giang Primary School's kitchen, including reviewing the cause of staphylococcus aureus bacteria contaminating chicken meat during transportation or during processing. From there, rectification will be made to prevent the above food safety incidents from happening again.
