Accordingly, through verification and testing, it was found that the initial cause of this mass poisoning was due to staphylococcus aureus bacteria infecting chicken in the students' meals. Currently, most of the poisoned students have been discharged from the hospital, only 4 students are being monitored at the hospital in a basically stable health condition.

Thanh Xuan District People's Committee continues to direct the investigation at Kim Giang Primary School's kitchen, including reviewing the cause of staphylococcus aureus bacteria contaminating chicken meat during transportation or during processing. From there, rectification will be made to prevent the above food safety incidents from happening again.

The poisoning incident caused many students at Kim Giang Primary School to be hospitalized for treatment.

Previously, on the morning of March 28, Kim Giang Primary School organized a field trip for 915 first and second graders to the Green Sail Farm (in Gia Lam District). Lunch for the students was cooked at school and transported to the site, including fried rice, fried chicken fillet, french fries, sour soup with meat, and Kinh Do Oreo cookies.

The unit providing food for students during the tour is Green Star Food Joint Stock Company (in Van Noi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi ).

During the field trip, students can bring snacks, drinks and use 19L bottled water from the Green Sail Farm.

After the tour ended, in the afternoon of the same day and the next morning, 73 students had stomachaches, vomited, and had diarrhea many times, so they were taken to several hospitals in Hanoi for examination.
