At the end of February 2023, the People's Committee of Nghi Loc district received a series of reports from Nghi Hung, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Thuan and Nghi Dong communes about workers working at Chau Tien Company Limited, in Nam Cam Industrial Park (IP), Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province suffering from pneumoconiosis.
According to the report of the People's Committee of the communes, 8 workers working at Chau Tien Company Ltd. have contracted pneumoconiosis, 3 of whom have died and 5 are being treated at Nghe An Lung Hospital.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Vice Chairwoman of Nghi Loc District People's Committee, said that the district People's Committee has reported the health problems of local workers working there. "To ensure the rights of workers and resolve the above incident in accordance with the law, Nghi Loc District People's Committee has reported to the Management Board of Dong Nam Economic Zone, the Department of Labor - Invalids - Social Affairs, and the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation for information and guidance on how to resolve the issue," Ms. Tuyet said.
Immediately after receiving the report from Nghi Loc District People's Committee, the Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board sent staff to coordinate with local authorities to the company to grasp the situation. On March 2, the Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board held a working session with the participation of departments and branches: Department of Health , Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Provincial Labor Federation, Nghe An Provincial Social Insurance, Nghi Loc District People's Committee, General Director of Chau Tien Company Limited.
At the meeting, the authorities requested Chau Tien Company Limited to visit and encourage 8 families of infected workers who have died and are being treated; organize environmental monitoring at the company; and examine all workers for occupational diseases...
Previously, on May 25, the Head of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Mr. Le Tien Tri, said that the People's Committee of Nghe An province had just decided to establish an interdisciplinary inspection team on compliance with labor safety and hygiene laws... for Chau Tien Company Limited. "The inspection plan has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee and is being implemented."
Chau Tien Company Limited, legally represented by Mr. Ho Viet Cam. The business line is manufacturing and trading in stone powder. The current number of employees is 33. Of the 3 deceased workers, the oldest is 49 years old, the youngest is 28 years old, and the remaining is 38 years old. They all reside in Nghi Loc district.

- HVS (born in 1976, residing in Nghi Hung commune, Nghi Loc), is on oxygen
- B.D.B (born in 1985, residing in Nghi Hung commune, Nghi Loc), had 1 lung wash, health declined
- TNH (born in 1978, residing in Nghi Hung commune, Nghi Loc), pneumoconiosis complicated into tuberculosis, currently has difficulty breathing and walking
- BCD (born in 1984, residing in Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc), has not been able to wash out dust mites, currently has difficulty breathing
- DVC (born in 1989, residing in Nghi Dong commune, Nghi Loc), had pneumoconiosis washed once, had difficulty breathing, had surgery.
