(BTV) - On January 31 (the third day of Tet), tens of thousands of people flocked to Phat Tich Pagoda (Phat Tich Commune, Tien Du District). This year's opening ceremony took place in warm weather, very favorable for visitors from all over to enjoy spring and attend the festival.

Going to the temple to worship Buddha at the beginning of the year is a cultural feature of Vietnamese people. People go to the temple to pray for a new year of peace, health, success in work, and prosperity for their family.

Early spring at Phat Tich Pagoda is always bustling and exciting, attracting a large number of people and tourists to attend.

According to the reporter, the later the afternoon, the Buddha Tich festival attracts a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province to worship Buddha and enjoy the spring.

In the main hall, thousands of tourists were present, making the entrances to the temple, bell tower, and Amitabha Buddha statue crowded.

Inside the ceremony area is always crowded with people praying for peace in the new year.

It is known that the Phat Tich Pagoda festival is held for three days, from the 3rd to the 5th of the Lunar New Year every year, in which the main festival day is the 4th . The festival consists of a ceremony and a festival. In which, the ceremony includes incense offering activities at places of worship and belief, organizing a great compassion Dharma assembly to pray for national peace and prosperity, and peace for the people and Buddhists, and the festival includes cultural and artistic performances, folk games at the festival center.

Tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country flocked to the temple to pray for peace, causing traffic to the temple, the entrances to the temple, the bell tower, and the great Amitabha Buddha statue to be congested.

To ensure the festival takes place safely and civilly, security and order, fire prevention, food safety and hygiene, and environmental sanitation at the festival are guaranteed. The festival steering committee has set up checkpoints in crowded areas, mobilizing police, military , and militia forces to be on duty, inspect, and ensure safety.

Although the way up to the Amitabha Buddha statue and the Bell Tower is not too far, on the first days of the year, festivals like this take a lot of time to move up to burn incense. Many people have to stand from a long distance to sincerely worship Buddha because of the large crowd.

During the festival, there will be cultural and artistic performances and folk games at the festival center. In particular, according to the characteristics of the Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh festival, the Organizing Committee will organize Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs on boats and perform cultural activities on stage.

In 1962, Phat Tich Pagoda was ranked by the State as a National Historical Relic, and in 2014, it was recognized as a Special National Relic. Currently, the pagoda still preserves two groups of national treasures including stone mascots and stone Amitabha Buddha statues.

Phat Tich Pagoda Festival is one of the largest and earliest festivals in Bac Ninh province. The organization of the Festival aims to create a competitive atmosphere among the people, arouse the pride of local people in cultural heritage; At the same time, encourage people to compete in patriotism, and fulfill the goals of economic and social development.
