The chaotic display of stalls and shops, causing disorder and loss of aesthetics, has been happening at Tranh Pagoda (Dong Tam Commune, Ninh Giang District, Hai Duong Province) for many days now, making locals and tourists upset.

Shops are everywhere in front of the temple.

Recently, Lao Dong Newspaper received feedback from people about the messy situation of stalls right in front of Tranh Pagoda gate, obstructing the pilgrimage and worship path of Buddhists and tourists.

Specifically, Mr. Tong Viet Trinh (50 years old, residing in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong ) said: At the beginning of the year, his family went to worship at the Tranh temple - pagoda complex (Ninh Giang, Hai Duong) but the first impression was the situation of stalls selling and eating right in front of the temple gate, which looked very chaotic and offensive. "I think that localities should plan the selling area to ensure order at relic and spiritual sites" - Mr. Trinh said.

Recorded at Tranh Pagoda on February 18, stalls were scattered all over the street, encroaching on the sidewalk, mainly selling food, children's toys, souvenirs... Around the stalls were styrofoam boxes and cardboard boxes, creating a messy scene right in front of the sacred place of worship.

Mr. Pham Van Minh (32 years old, Ninh Giang town, Ninh Giang district) said that his family often goes to Tranh temple and the chaotic and bustling situation of shops in front of the temple gate often happens. According to Mr. Minh, there is even a market held behind the temple every day. "Tranh temple and Tranh pagoda are right next to each other, but on the temple side there is a Management Board so the security and order situation is more orderly, while on the temple side there are dozens of shops surrounding the gate" - Mr. Minh said.

What do the locals say?

Responding to the people's feedback, speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Dinh Van Chau - Chairman of Dong Tam Commune People's Committee - said: Tranh Temple and Tranh Pagoda are two famous spiritual tourist destinations in the locality. During the recent Lunar New Year, these spiritual tourist destinations attracted more than 40,000 visitors from inside and outside the province.

According to Mr. Chau, the local authorities have been aware of the situation of people selling goods crowdedly at the entrance to Tranh Pagoda in recent days and are also implementing corrective measures. Due to the increasing number of visitors, many households have taken advantage of the opportunity to do business in front of the pagoda gate.

Recently, the commune has requested that small traders not set up their stalls on the sidewalks, but move to the sales points arranged by the locality. At the same time, the commune has established a working group to regularly remind businesses to strictly comply with regulations, maintain order and hygiene in the Tranh temple and pagoda area, and handle violations if any.

Tranh Pagoda was built in 2012, located near Tranh ferry in Tranh Xuyen village, Dong Tam commune, Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province. The pagoda is located right next to Tranh temple - the most sacred temple in Hai Duong province, forming a famous spiritual relic cluster of Ninh Giang district.
