Hundreds of young people participate in Military Semester 2025

On the morning of June 23, hundreds of young people in Ho Chi Minh City eagerly participated in the program "Semester in the Army 2025", organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House in coordination with the Navy Region 2 Command to help them experience the real military environment, learn how to live with discipline, independence and collective solidarity.

The training course for "young soldiers" aged 11-15 will take place at the Naval Region 2 Training Center (Nhon Trach District, Dong Nai Province) in two sessions, from June 23-29 and from July 7-13.

The launching ceremony of the program "Semester in the Army 2025" was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House in coordination with the Naval Region 2 Command.

With the theme “Discipline - Connection - Love”, this year’s program continues to affirm itself as an ideal training environment for “young soldiers”. Not only getting acquainted with military life, the children also have the opportunity to experience a series of unique training activities, helping to comprehensively develop physical, intellectual, life skills and emotions, a sense of responsibility and a strong character for the young generation.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Phuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House, said: "From the very first years of organization, we identified "Military Semester" as a program to help children in their youth age improve themselves, have fun and useful summer days, so investing in organizing this type of program is one of the criteria we aim for.

In 2025, with the consensus of the City Youth Union and the support of the Naval Region 2 Training Center, teachers, and psychologists, we also hope that children of adolescence will have sympathy and connection not only with friends, but also with their families and parents. They also need a psychological orientation to be able to study better.

Therefore, during the 7 days that the children participate in the "Military Semester" at the Navy Region 2 Training Center, we set the task that when they return to their families, they will become more mature, independent, disciplined, and have more understanding and connection with the love and care of their parents."

The “Semester in the Army” training course is a memorable journey, designed in the form of thematic “stations”: The bonding - connection station helps students build team spirit, learn how to work and live together; The discipline - solidarity station puts students into the strict cycle of military discipline, training independence and responsibility; The understanding - sharing station and the love - emotion station teach students to listen, express emotions, sympathize with others and love themselves; The strength - voice station develops the ability to communicate confidently, convey thoughts and feelings clearly; The creativity - action station and the breakthrough station awaken personal talent, dare to think, dare to do and step out of the comfort zone.

More than just physical training, the training course also helps students better understand their own values, be grateful to their parents, connect with the community and nurture their love for the Fatherland. Each small lesson is subtly integrated through games, challenges and team training - models that have been carefully researched to develop soft skills naturally and effectively.

Accompanying the "little soldiers" are a team of prestigious lecturers, psychology and emotionaleducation experts such as journalist-MC Le Phuoc Lap, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Dao, Dr. Bui Hong Quan, and education and skills training experts.

In addition, the Naval Region 2 Training Center, a formal training unit, plays an important role in training and practicing elite naval forces; here, it possesses a system of modern facilities, including training grounds, farming areas, dining halls, bedrooms, community living areas, etc., ensuring the best learning and training environment.

After 12 years of organization, the program "Semester in the Army" organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House in coordination with the Army unit continues to affirm its special appeal, attracting thousands of children each year to participate in training and growing up.
