A terrible accident happened to Megan Pascoe (33 years old) while she was mowing the lawn in front of her house. She and her partner had just bought a house in New South Wales, Australia.

Horrible accident

On a free Saturday, Megan Pascoe decided to clean up the area in front of her house. While operating the lawn mower, the machine accidentally collided and almost caused Megan to fall. Out of reflex, she put her foot down to keep her balance but unfortunately her foot hit the lawn mower blade.

The incident happened so suddenly that Megan Pascoe screamed loudly and then collapsed. Her neighbor and her partner rushed over after hearing her scream and witnessed the haunting scene.

Megan was immediately airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for emergency surgery.

After many stressful hours, the woman was finally out of danger. Sharing with the media, Megan said she was especially impressed by the actions of the neighbor living across the street from her house. She shared: "I still remember clearly the image of the neighbor running towards me and taking off his shirt as he ran. This neighbor used his shirt as a tourniquet to stop my bleeding. The other neighbors also quickly took off their belts to support. That was what saved my life. Without those tourniquets and without the help of the kind neighbors, the outcome could have been completely different," Megan said emotionally.

After the accident on October 26, although her life was no longer in danger, due to the severity of her injuries, doctors had to amputate her lower leg on October 27.

Despite her terrifying ordeal, Megan remains optimistic and grateful for her kind neighbors and caring partner.

After three weeks in the hospital, Megan is now recovering at home. She is receiving outpatient treatment and seeing her orthopedist weekly. Her goal is to be able to use a prosthetic leg, and last week she practiced walking with it. She hopes to walk normally again soon and hopes that people will be more careful when using lawn mowers to avoid unfortunate incidents like hers.

A close friend of Megan shared the incident and created a fundraising page to support her friend. So far, the fundraiser has reached 26,000 USD (about 660 million VND), this amount of money has supported Megan a lot and she is very grateful for everyone's help.
