Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) have officially signed and awarded a cooperation contract to deploy in-flight internet service (IFC) for the Airbus A350 fleet.

The project will be implemented from July 2025, marking a new step in the digital transformation journey and improving the passenger experience of the National Airline.

In the first phase, the service will be installed on 10 Airbus A350 aircraft, a modern aircraft line operating long-haul routes to the US, Europe and some domestic routes. It is expected that from 2026, Vietnam Airlines will expand the deployment of IFC to the entire wide-body fleet, bringing a seamless connection experience to millions of passengers each year.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines, said that the deployment of in-flight internet service is a concrete step in the digital transformation strategy, and at the same time demonstrates Vietnam Airlines' commitment to improving the quality of its services to international standards. The cooperation of VNPT will help Vietnam Airlines bring modern, convenient and unprecedented connected flight experiences to passengers.

Emphasizing that the cooperation with Vietnam Airlines to deploy IFC services is an important milestone in VNPT's digital service development orientation, Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of VNPT's Board of Members, committed to mobilizing maximum technological and human resources to contribute to making Vietnam Airlines the leading digital airline in the region.

Previously, in 2024, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, agreeing on a roadmap for implementing IFC services on international and domestic flights, including completing legal procedures, installing equipment, configuring software and providing operational support.
