- As part of the activities of the Lang Son Peach Blossom Festival and celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the first-ever "Peach Blossom Route" running race in Lang Son province in 2026 will become a meeting point for running enthusiasts, while also opening up a fresh approach to promoting the beauty of peach blossoms as well as the culture and people of Lang Son in the days leading up to Tet.
Mr. Nguyen Dang An, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Organizing Committee for the Peach Blossom Festival and activities celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, and Head of the Organizing Committee for the "Peach Blossom Route" race, said: The race is one of the new highlights of this year's festival activities. The Organizing Committee determined that this is not simply a sports competition, but also a tourism and cultural product, through which to introduce to domestic and international friends the historical relics, scenic spots, and beautiful peach blossom routes of Lang Son in spring, the peach blossom season.
According to the plan, the race will take place on the morning of February 7, 2026 (the 20th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake). Starting from the area in front of the Provincial Museum on Hung Vuong Street, Luong Van Tri Ward, athletes will compete in two distances: 6.5 km and 21 km, for both men and women.

To facilitate registration for athletes from both within and outside the province, the Organizing Committee opened an online registration portal. From mid-January 2026 until January 28th, 2026 (the registration deadline), nearly 550 athletes registered to participate.
Simultaneously, the race routes were surveyed and designed by specialized agencies, passing through the central streets and gradually opening up to the ecological spaces and characteristic mountain passes of Lang Son. This attractiveness is also the reason why many athletes from outside the province choose to participate in the race.
Arriving in Lang Son before the official race day to familiarize himself with the weather and route, athlete Ly Van Chien from Luu Kiem ward, Hai Phong city, shared: "Participating in the Peach Blossom Route race in Lang Son, I chose the 21km distance with the desire to have many new experiences and more time to explore the natural scenery, especially the characteristic peach orchards of the land known as the land of peach blossoms."
A highlight of the race routes at all distances is the To Son area with the Phai Luong peach orchards in full bloom, promising a unique visual and emotional experience for participants. Therefore, not only are the athletes eager, but the local people, especially the peach growers along the race route, are also actively contributing to the success of the event.
Mr. Loc Van Quan , the owner of a peach orchard in Phai Luong, Luong Van Tri ward, said: "I am very proud that my family's peach orchard contributes to creating a beautiful landscape for the running route. Therefore, my family has proactively tidied up, cleaned the landscape, trimmed branches and leaves, and kept the pathways clear for many days now. This is also an opportunity for my family to promote the beauty of traditional peach blossoms to a large number of athletes."
Along with professional preparations, the Organizing Committee has also completed logistical arrangements, ensuring safety and convenience for the athletes. From February 2nd to February 6th, 2026, the Organizing Committee will distribute bib numbers (race numbers) to athletes at the Provincial Sports Arena located at 4 Le Loi Street, Dong Kinh Ward. Athletes receiving their bib numbers must submit a personal health declaration form and will be provided with safety pins by the Organizing Committee, maximizing their chances of participating in the competition.

In recent years, organizing running events of various distances within the province has attracted an increasing number of athletes from outside the province and internationally. Along with family and friends, they not only come to compete but also combine it with sightseeing, experiencing the local culture, capturing beautiful moments along the running route, and spreading the image of Lang Son on social media platforms, thereby contributing to the promotion and development of the province's tourism.
Tomorrow, the starting whistle will blow for the 2026 "Peach Blossom Route" race in Lang Son. From the runners' performances, it is hoped that the image of roads filled with peach blossoms, historical sites, scenic spots, and the hospitality of the local people will continue to spread, contributing to making Lang Son a more attractive destination on the tourism and sports map in the future.
