Harley-Davidson is about to launch a cheap motorcycle starting at only 150 million VND

Harley-Davidson's new entry-level, large-displacement motorcycle has been confirmed to be called the Sprint and will retail for around VND150 million.

American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson (HD) has just announced plans to launch a new small-displacement motorcycle model in 2026, called Sprint. During a recent shareholder meeting, HD CEO Jochen Zeitz said the new Sprint will cost less than $6,000 (equivalent to 157 million VND).

Details about this new motorcycle model are still very limited, but HD has previously tried its hand in the under 500cc segment.

Products at that time included the Street 500 and Street 750, as well as the Harley-Davidson X440 for the Indian market and the Chinese-made 350 model with QianJiang, but received mixed market response.

The Sprint has been in development since 2021, and while a launch date has yet to be announced, it's likely the new model will be showcased at a major motorcycle show this year, possibly at EICMA in Italy.

The 2026 Harley-Davidson Sprint is also expected to arrive at HD dealerships in the US by the end of 2026, targeting young and first-time motorcycle riders.

Zeitz says the Sprint will move away from the brand’s “mature” (or aging) design direction. The company also plans to introduce another, as-yet-unnamed cruiser alongside the Sprint.

Talk about competing in a segment the brand had never been in (not counting the single-cylinder Harley Davidsons from 1961 to 1978, which were essentially Italian Aermacchi rebadged).

Zeitz said the brand expects Sprint sales to generate healthy profit margins. Currently, the cheapest base model in the HD line is the Nightster, which has a list price of up to 579 million VND.
