This is not the first time Hanoi FC has been interested in Hendrio. In 2023, after leaving Binh Dinh FC, the former U.16 Barca player received an offer from the capital team but he decided to join Nam Dinh FC, a financially strong and ambitious team at that time.

Hendrio's playing style is considered suitable for Hanoi FC. He is a technical player, rich in creativity, likes to play short balls and has good teamwork skills. Hendrio's challenge now is to maintain good physical condition and form when not playing. In phase 2 of V-League 2024-2025, he was not registered to play by Nam Dinh FC. The Brazilian player had to practice alone and recently asked to practice with his old team Binh Dinh FC.

Hendrio started playing in Vietnam in the 2021 season for Binh Dinh Club. Since then, he has always been the leading attacking midfielder in V-League.

What Vietnamese name did Hendrio take?

One of the factors that helped Hanoi FC "defeat" other opponents, including Madam Pang's Port Club (Thailand), is that the capital team will support Hendrio to obtain Vietnamese citizenship. According to FIFA regulations, players without a country's origin must live continuously in the host country for 5 years to be eligible to play for that country's national team. Therefore, by December 2025, Hendrio will be eligible to wear the Vietnamese national team jersey.

Previously, Hendrio intended to take the Vietnamese name Nguyen Xuan Hen if he was granted Vietnamese citizenship during his time playing for Nam Dinh Club. This is the surname taken from the surname of the club's manager Nguyen Xuan Thien.

But when he moves to Hanoi FC, Hendrio will take the name of the owner Do Quang Hien. This midfielder can take the name Do Quang Hen, but he also really likes the name Do Hoang Hen. According to Thanh Nien Newspaper, Hendrio likes the word "Hoang" more because Hoang means "emperor" and the yellow color of success. Recently, he has also studied Vietnamese culture, learned Vietnamese and can sing the national anthem, and communicate quite well in Vietnamese.

Hendrio is also very excited about the prospect of playing for the Vietnamese national team. He once shared that his priority is to play in Vietnam, despite many attractive invitations from foreign teams because he longs to contribute to the Vietnamese national team.

If Hendrio successfully naturalizes as a Vietnamese citizen, he will become the second naturalized player with the surname Do. The first was Do Merlo (Argentine origin, real name Gaston Merlo), former striker of Da Nang Club.
