Withered profession following the trend

Digital content creation is becoming a top choice as social media becomes a part of many people's lives.

Starting from creating content for personal pages or fanpages to attract users to follow, and when reaching the milestone of millions of views, tens of thousands or even millions of followers, the owner naturally becomes a "war god" sought after by brands and businesses.

Because each article, image or livestream of the "war gods" attracts a large number of viewers and closes product orders, the effect is many times faster than traditional advertising methods.

However, in recent months, megalive sessions (large-scale sales livestreams, often with the participation of many "war gods" and many businesses introducing products) have no longer created great attraction on social networks, many "war gods" who once closed billion-dollar deals are now completely silent.

Accounts like VHL, which had a record revenue of 237 billion VND in June 2024; QLD with a 17-hour megalive session earning 100 billion VND or PT account, which had a live session with revenue of 58 billion VND... all have in common that they are more or less entangled in legal issues or disputes over product quality.

Most recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Market Management Department coordinated with relevant units to verify the sales activities of the VHL account, after receiving feedback on signs of dumping in livestream sessions; the PT account was suspected by users of being related to charity transparency, many e-commerce platforms canceled all live sessions of this account and chose another person to replace it.

Along with that, the involvement of inter-sectoral authorities discovered a series of famous accounts on social networks advertising falsely, exaggerating the actual uses of products,...

And the most recent lesson is the case of Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Quang Linh Vlog, and Hang Du Muc, which shows that users' trust in famous people on social networks has completely cooled down.

There are no more hot "closing deals" worth tens of billions of dong. Many livestream "warriors" are now keeping silent or only sharing images of daily life, not related to product advertising.

The trend of choosing a career to make money from social networks is a reality, even bringing in "huge" income, however it is difficult to predict where the social network trend will stop.

Young people choosing jobs based on trends is also a way to respond to the current labor market, but they need to be alert to choose a sustainable option alongside the unusual ups and downs of digital platforms.
