VKBIA Association supports connection between Da Nang city and special autonomous province of Korea

On September 27, in Gangwon (Korea), the Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) received a high-level delegation from Da Nang city, led by Mr. Tran Phuoc Son - Vice Chairman of the City People's Council.

Attending the meeting from Da Nang were leaders of the Office, Urban Committee, Economic and Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee, leaders of departments and branches: Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks. The meeting also had leaders of Monapark Yongpyong Complex Group and Korean businessmen.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City introduced the city's potential, strengths, and socio-economic development orientation; basic information on the content of the Central Resolutions on building and developing Da Nang, and discussed the situation of cooperation in recent times with Korean units.

On behalf of the delegation of Da Nang City, Mr. Tran Phuoc Son thanked the Chairman of the VKBIA Association, Tran Hai Linh, and the members of the Association for supporting the city in connecting and working with the Gangwon Special Autonomous Provincial Council and for providing practical and effective support in signing the tourism development cooperation document between the Gangwon Tourism Bureau (Korea) and the Da Nang City Department of Tourism on September 26.

Mr. Tran Phuoc Son hopes and suggests that VKBIA Chairman Tran Hai Linh and leaders and members of the VKBIA network pay attention to introducing investment funds, corporations, companies and Korean enterprises to continue investing in Da Nang; at the same time, there will be more activities to support cooperation promotion, tourism development to Da Nang, promote Da Nang to Korean people, and connect Korean localities with Da Nang.

He said: "The tourism industry in particular and Da Nang City aim to become a high-quality tourism and service center, attracting high-spending visitors to boost the economy. In particular, we always focus on and actively promote in Korea, with the desire to bring Korean tourists new and quality experiences."

Previously, at a working session with the leaders of the Gangwon Special Autonomous Provincial Council (South Korea), Mr. Tran Phuoc Son also emphasized that Da Nang is one of three cities in Vietnam to pilot the organization of urban government and Gangwon province has just been granted special autonomous province status by the Korean government in mid-2023.

The two localities can exchange and share experiences in the management and operation of the government apparatus. Da Nang City and Gangwon Province have many similarities in geography, favorable natural landscapes, and many advantages in tourism, etc.

The representative of the Gangwon Special Autonomous Provincial Council highly appreciated the visit and work of the Da Nang delegation to Gangwon, expressed his thanks for the connection of the VKBIA Association between Da Nang and Gangwon, and said that he would visit and work with Da Nang in the coming time to promote cooperation in various fields, in accordance with the potential, strengths and similarities of the two sides.

The delegation of Da Nang City and VKBIA Association also attended the signing ceremony of a cooperation document between the Da Nang City Department of Tourism and the Gangwon Provincial Tourism Department.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son affirmed that the signing of cooperation between the Gangwon Provincial Tourism Department and the Da Nang City Tourism Department will open up opportunities to promote exchanges and strengthen cooperation between the two localities in the field of tourism, exchange tourist resources between the two localities, creating a premise for cooperation in investment, economy, trade... in the coming time.

On this occasion, the representative of the Gangwon Provincial Council presented a Certificate of Merit to VKBIA President Tran Hai Linh and two members of VKBIA, in gratitude for the connections and support of VKBIA in promoting cooperation between all levels and organizations of Vietnam and Gangwon province, strengthening friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.

Gangwon Province is always interested in expanding cooperation with Da Nang City to facilitate cultural exchange, economic and trade cooperation in the coming time, and emphasized that it will visit and work with the VKBIA Association in the near future to strongly promote cooperation between the two sides.

Gangwon Province, with its capital in Chuncheon, is a large province with an area of ​​16,874 km2; a population of over 1.56 million people, with 7 cities and 11 districts. The province has great potential for tourism development, with rows of trees, colorful leaves, and beautiful scenery. In particular, there are world-class ski resorts...

South Korea has always been the leading market for international tourists to Da Nang City (currently accounting for 48% of international visitors) and has been growing continuously since 2015. Currently, Da Nang City is operating many direct flights to Incheon, Busan, Daegu, Cheongju, and Muan.

Da Nang City identifies Korea as a key international market, a group of high-spending customers who use high-end services. Therefore, in promotional activities, Da Nang City's tourism industry focuses on introducing in-depth to localities and new markets in Korea the strengths of MICE tourism (event, conference, seminar tourism) and golf, in order to meet the needs of travel and service agencies.
