Present in Rai village, Muong Vang commune, Phu Tho province, farmers are taking advantage of favorable weather to pour water and prepare the land to start the planting season, creating a majestic and captivating scene here.

Interspersed among the glistening terraced fields are young rice seedlings that people sowed a month earlier to plant for the new crop.

Mr. Bui Van Nghich (46 years old, Rai village, Muong Vang commune) shared that this year's crop, my family sowed more than 8 kg of rice seeds to plant rice seedlings on terraced fields. We here can only grow one crop, like my family, each crop yields about 40 bags of rice, ensuring food for the whole year.

“To have a bumper crop, we prepare the land very carefully, then bring water into the fields, prepare the land, and build the banks carefully,” said Mr. Nghich.

The golden sunlight of summer, mixed with the alluvial water on the terraced fields, creates a shimmering beauty.

According to Muong Vang people, rice cultivation now not only ensures food but also serves tourism . "Along with Muong Bi, Muong Vang also has beautiful terraced fields, so we will take advantage to develop tourism, increasing family income," Mr. Nghich added.

To have a bumper crop, Muong Vang people take care of their fields carefully. Mr. Bui Van Nghia, (50 years old, Rai village) said, to have a bumper crop, with big, round, golden rice grains like the summer sun, the soil must be prepared carefully, thoroughly, and cleanly. The rice must be watered with clean stream water.

The terraced fields, when planted, are covered in green rice, softly undulating, like silk strips across the hillsides.

Mrs. Bui Thi Oanh (55 years old, Rai village) happily said that her family is currently actively plowing to prepare for planting the crop and for a bumper harvest.

People in Muong Vang are gradually greening terraced fields.

“Nowadays, I am very happy. Concrete roads lead to the fields, which is very convenient for farming and for bumper harvests. With the State’s investment in infrastructure, people’s lives are increasingly developing. Here, everyone has a nice house, a motorbike, and people’s lives are very happy,” Ms. Oanh shared.
