Manager Ruben Amorim is preparing to enter his first full season with Man United. He also shared his biggest disappointment when leading the team last season.
The Portuguese coach had a disappointing second half of last season, helping the club finish 15th and lose in the Europa League final. In 27 Premier League matches under his leadership, Man United lost 14.
"Honestly, it's not about how I get home after the games, it's about how I feel when I leave home to go to the stadium. I feel every difficulty before it happens.
That was the hardest part. Going into the games knowing we weren't going to be competitive,” Amorim said of his biggest disappointment.
However, the performance in the pre-season has given coach Amorim hope that Man United will "transform" compared to last season.
The 40-year-old strategist is now confident of having a long-term tenure at Man United, similar to Sir Alex Ferguson: "I want to stay for 20 years. That's my target and I really believe in it."
The Portuguese coach also mentioned Man United's transfer situation this summer. They let Marcus Rashford join Barca.
However, the futures of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho remain unclear. These four players were not named in the tour squad and were given more time to find new clubs.
