This tournament is meant to help the Vietnam U16 team review and evaluate their strength towards the main goal of qualifying for the 2026 U17 Asian Cup, so excellent players with development potential are given the opportunity to be included in the call-up list.

Some notable faces include Ly Xuan Hoa - the best goalkeeper of the 2024 National U15 tournament, striker Nguyen Van Duong - the best player and also the top scorer of the 2024 National U15 tournament, or midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc - one of the key players in the Vietnam U17 team at the recent 2025 AFC U17 Finals.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U16 team will continue training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center from May 10. It is expected that on May 23, the team will leave for Hohhot City (Inner Mongolia, China) to participate in the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament, taking place from May 28 to June 1, 2025.

With the participation of high-quality U16 teams including Australia, Saudi Arabia and host China, the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Tournament is considered a useful practice for the Vietnam U16 team, not only for the preparation plan for the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers but also to help young players have the opportunity to "test the waters" and progress faster in their expertise when competing with top opponents on the continent.
