After Man City defeated Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final, Jack Grealish continuously organized celebratory parties with his teammates. According to The Guardian of England, the former Aston Villa midfielder even stayed awake for 72 hours and he could not stand during the celebration of the blue half of Manchester held on June 14.
To prepare for the EURO 2024 qualifiers, coach Southgate has called up Jack Grealish along with other Man City players such as Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, John Stones and Kalvin Phillips. In June, the "Three Lions" will face the Malta team (June 17) and the North Macedonia team (June 20). Therefore, witnessing the Man City players continuously celebrating, the head coach of the England team had to speak up.
Jack Grealish arrived to train with the England team on June 15.
Southgate warns Jack Grealish: “We have sent a warning to Jack Grealish about his excessive celebrations. England are not thinking about fielding Man City players against Malta. We have been through this scenario three or four times in the last few years when our players have celebrated after important games.
"England have a lot of players in training and we have a lot of options to suit the tactics. Maybe the Man City players need more time to settle. I have spoken to the players and they know when the team needs them."
British media assessed that Jack Grealish's continuous posting of celebratory images after winning the Champions League could cause him a lot of trouble. Regarding this issue, coach Southgate also gave his opinion: "Some of our players will be drunk but the difference now is that everyone posts everything on social media. I wouldn't like a few nights out of my life to be posted publicly. My generation would have more problems. Jack Grealish clearly has to consider this issue."

England are currently top of Group C after winning their opening two matches against Italy and Ukraine. Southgate is expected to make a number of changes in their next match, as they face Malta. The last time the two teams met in September 2017, the Three Lions won 4-0 away to Malta in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.
